The Age of Corruption has BEGUN

In the Realm of the Spires

Composed of four continents, the realm of Tallendrall is protected by twenty-four spires at its very center. If too many spires fall, armies of demons and dragons will invade and all in the realm will be enslaved or killed..

Protected by the Lords

Despite the barrier, evil still slips in and ravages the lands. To protect the people, individuals with magical gifts and talents have taken an oath to protect the realm from all threats… that is until they themselves are corrupted by their own power.

Where Technology and Magic collide

Never quite trusting the lords, people have turned to a new source of magical energy to create marvelous machines. In a realm that once only had swords, wagons and stone castles, it now has ships that can fly and machines that walk.

And Heroes must become Legends . . .

In this dark age, heroes must rise up to face the darkness in the realm and within themselves. A plague is transforming people into terrible monsters while demons and dragons scheme against everything that is right and pure.  Mistakes are made and the innocent suffer. Will a hero’s past dictate their future?

. . . to Save the People of Tallendrall

Throughout the realm, there are many intelligent races fighting to survive and not be enslaved. Each of the five major races below have carved out their own lands over the centuries but now are in danger of losing it all to the monstrous corrupted.

Humans

“It is our right to rule”

Claiming to be the oldest race, humans rule the empire with an iron fist. Prideful and innovative, their machines of war rumble across the realm, taking whatever they so desire. For in their minds, it is they who protect the realm from complete destruction and will do so — no matter the cost.

Elves

“All will soon know our rage”

Elves were once a secluded peaceful race until captured by the dragons and transformed into their devilish enforcers. After the dragons’ defeat, they are outcasts and hated among the other races. While most bide their time as merchants, some plan a revolution to take back what was once their own.

Orcs

“Strength and Honor”

Once slaves to demons, orcs ravaged everything in their path — until they revolted. Now they remain cloistered in the eastern forests, fighting for resources against encroaching humans and roving barbarians. Promising never again to be anyone’s puppets, they wage war only to protect their precious freedom.

Barbarians

“We must honor the ancient spirits”

Barbarians were once humans, but then the spirits showed them a new path. Learning to become one with nature, they discarded technology and live simple lives deep in the eastern forests and mountains. But when challenged, no force or technology can stand against their unforgiving rage.

Trolls

“Death to the foolish sun-dwellers”

Trolls, an ancient, powerful race, live deep underground in a region called the Underrealm. Each day, they must struggle to survive against terrible evil unleashed by foolish humans who they despise. The trolls would gladly destroy all races if only to protect the balance.

The Corrupted

“The realm shall burn and we will rise from its ashes”

While not a true race, they are the ones who have been rejected, hated and isolated. Then, a voice offers unlimited power to take their long-awaited revenge. They can become monstrous werelings, ethereal vampires, beautiful nymphs, or the terrible effreti. But, at what price?

And the Four Provinces

The Drift is an enigmatic desert-like wasteland which lays at the heart of the Tallendrall realm. It is where the great, bottom-less maelstrom of chaos churns and was the source of the dragons’ invasion. Now,  Castle Dragonlock and the spires create a massive shield to prevent the dragons from ever returning.

Four continents connect to the Drift. Each one is covered in mountains, forests and plains. Rivers undulate their way through these lush lands and the many cities. The Tallendrall empire rules all four continents and denotes each one as a province, ruled by a governor and barons. The young emperor and his devious bureaucrats live at Castle Dragonlock, overseeing their destructive ambitions.

Adia

The Adia Province is the northwestern continent and known for its many rivers and tall forests. Due to its many resources and the Great Train, it has the wealthiest cities and barons, envied by all.

Antellia

The Antellia Province is the southwestern continent and known for its fertile farmlands and grassy plains.  Merchants come from all reaches to trade for their exotic and opulant foods and materials, coveted by all.

Eretia

The Eretia Province is the northeastern continent and known for is mountainous, cold terrain. It is in these hollowed-out mountains where workshops build powerful airships and terrible warmachines.

Xandia

The Xandia Province is the southeastern continent and known for its thick, hot jungles. Despite the dangerous creatures and cursed ruins, explorers and merchants plunder this land for its riches, enigmatic artifacts, and its alien secrets.

From the Sins of the Past

The people of Tallendrall have survived many trials and tribulations for thousands of years, often caused by their own pride and vanity. The great sages and scholars have separated this span of time into ages. It is in each of these ages, some find hope from heroes overcoming impossible challenges but others see only the realm’s inevitable destruction. For how many more invasions and insidious celestiual plots can the realm survive?

Age of Monsters

In the beginning, it was a time of darkness where monsters roamed the land. Humans and others hid in their small villages, fighting to survive and often losing. Many were enslaved while others became nothing more than food stock. Few saviors could stand against these terrible overlords.

Age of Heroes

After a time, individuals with divine gifts and powers rose up and fought these monsters. Powerful relics were plundered from ancient dungeons and great strongholds were built to stop the evil onslaught. By the end of the age, all demons had been banished, or so they thought.

Age of Peace

Freed from evil’s grip, the people flourished, and great kingdoms were formed throughout the realm. It was during this time the Council of Lords was created, but it was too late. After a few centuries, evil returned and many of these kingdoms fell and then the dragons came.

Age of Dragons

A massive portal tore through the center of the realm and the dragon armies poured over the land. Each dragon took over the old kingdoms and tortured its inhabitants for many centuries. Then, the great magical power known as ethaerium was discovered and used to banish the dragons.

Age of Magic

With the dragons gone, the people of Tallendrall rebuilt their lives. With the help of ethaerium, grand cities were created in decades instead of centuries and the majestic airships were invented. Great prosperity was seen by all for centuries as they relied more and more on the powers of ethaerium. But, their decadence would soon be their downfall.

Age of Corruption

From the ashes of the forgotten and dismissed, a new creature known as the corrupted spread their chaos across the realm. There was little that could stop these beings of fire, claw, fang and seduction. With the lords failing to break the dark tide, the empire sought more extreme measures that threatened to rip the very realm apart.
